Panyandoli Healthcare Project

The Panyandoli Health Center, located at the Kiryandongo Refugee Settlement in Bweyale, Uganda, provides healthcare services to over 30,000 in the region including 16,000 refugees, comprised of Ugandan IDP’s and Kenyan and Sudanese Refugees, and the greater community of Bweyale with an estimated population of 15,000.

In 2009, Real Medicine Foundation initiated a center-wide upgrade to restore the function of the center to best practice western medical standards. In collaboration with the UNCHR and the Ugandan Office of the Prime Minister, Real Medicine has painted the facilities wards, provided new bedding, mosquito nets, ward cleaners, grounds keepers and supplements the medical shipments to eliminate gaps in critical medicine inventories. Future plans include upgrading inpatients wards, upgrading kitchen, and salary support to maintain electronic health records.
