Carissa Schumacher is a strategic planning consultant in the healthcare industries focused in biotechnology, biomedical venture capital, and medical nonprofit organization development. She is also a freelance writer focused in medical/science writing and a global human health rights activist. As Principal to Infostrategies Consulting, she has executed strategic business plans and operational models for a myriad of public and private biotechnology companies. She has also served as Principal to Medaetas Ventures, a fund focused in cancer prevention research and initiatives, and worked in business development and corporate relations at Biogen Idec. She received a scholarship to the Graduate Program for International Economics and Business at the Rijksuniversiteit Groningen in the Netherlands and holds a BS in Behavioral Neuroscience and Biotechnology Management from Brown University.
