Naiara Tejados has a degree in Biochemistry and a Phd in Molecular and Cellular Biology both from the University of the Basque Country, in Spain. Naiara’s thesis was focused on the human cardiac stem cells: testing their regenerative potential after producing myocardial infarction in rats and pigs.
One of her biggest dreams was doing social work in India. Naiara worked hard to find an NGO that would allow her to contribute to work in the field and found Real Medicine Foundation India, moving to India in January 2011. Focusing on children, she has been busy helping to provide access to medical support to children with special needs. In the future, she hopes to find a way to link her scientific background with social work, and continue to work in India. She loves traveling and tasting new flavors of international cuisine.
