Saglar Bougdaeva MPH, PhD(c) received her MPH at the Yale School of Public Health, Global Health Division, and is currently working on her PhD at the Yale School of Sociology. She studied at the National Taiwan Normal University in Taipei, Taiwan, Province of China. and received her BA/MA at the School of Oriental and African Studies at Saint-Petersburg State University in Russia. She received a Yale Law School Kirby Simon Fellowship for International Human Rights. Her professional experience includes consulting at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine as well as for the United Nations Development Programme. She also worked as a journalist for the Kalmyk State Broadcasting Company in Kalmykia, R.F. She is fluent in Russian, Kalmyk, conversational Chinese (Mandarin) and Mongolian as well as written Tibetan.
