Beginning the mental health component of relief work started with providing support for the volunteers who are working tirelessly. Ultimately, mental health will play a huge part in the recovery of the Nepali people. The immediate need was preventing the burnout and compassion fatigue associated with 24 hour efforts to serve the community.RMF provided a much needed break to the volunteers at Global Karuna and Bibeksheel Nepali after their moment of silence for the victims and impressive motivational speaking by leadership, by providing food, a chance to sit and talk about experiences, and guided mediation and spiritual advice from Metteyya.
