Armenian Humanitarian Support Receives Boost from Real Medicine Foundation

INTERNATIONAL RELIEF ORGANIZATION HOSTS BENEFIT COCKTAIL PARTY IN WEST HOLLYWOOD ON TUESDAY, JUNE 17
WHAT:
The Real Medicine Foundation (RMF) will be hosting a charity event to build awareness and gain support for their new Armenia and Los Angeles relief projects.RMF is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing humanitarian support to people living in disaster, post-war and poverty-stricken areas.
The RMF-Armenia project, led by Nairy Ghazourian, will focus on four components to provide a comprehensive and holistic approach to improving the healthcare system in the region. The project will assist the local health care staff in providing appropriate, patient-oriented ambulatory health care services to the community. RMF will help to build and implement a sustainable program by renovating the facility, upgrading services, providing basic supplies and pharmaceuticals, improving the knowledge and practice of health care personnel, and empowering the community through outreach programs.
The RMF-Los Angeles project is led by program leader, Kevin Thomas, MD, MPH who recently took over the operations of the Florence Western Medical Center in South Los Angeles. This 5,000 sq. ft. facility on 73rd and South Western Ave. provides care to over 1,600 managed care and 1,600 fee-for-service patients. The clinic takes all government and most commercial insurance and provides care at very reasonable cash prices. The clinic is open Monday-Friday from 9-5 and every first and third Saturday of the month from 8-1 with services in Primary Care, Gastroenterology and Podiatry. The clinic also has on-site pharmacy, lab and radiology services. In the near future, the clinic has plans to be open for dental care, after-hours visits and urgent care.
All proceeds will go directly toward all of RMF’s relief projects.
